While attending the University of Oregon, the call of the 60 s folk music boom called to Peter and lured him out of college and into the pop culture revolution. He became a part of the band Travelers Three, and toured the nation for eight years and recorded four albums with Capitol and Elektra Records. Peter moved back to Hawaii in 1975, and spent the latter part of the 70 s as a Hawaiian activist and then went on to become an Office of Hawaiian Affairs Trustee, a state legislator for 12 years, Director of Culture and Arts for the City & County of Honolulu, a Special Assistant to the Governor on Hawaiian Affairs, Director of Waikiki Development for the City & County of Honolulu and, currently in post-retirement, Director of Culture and Education for the Native Hawaiian Hospitality Association. Peter started his own record label, Mamo Records, and released several recordings of his own, as well as other artists such as Del Beazley. A prolific songwriter, Peter continues to write and record his songs to this day, and has several new projects in the works.
