His playing has a warmth that is still enjoyable today. This compilation reflects the genius of that Blues and Boogie-Woogie piano master. The presence of Big Joe Turner on six of the twenty cuts is a gift. There's also six excellent piano solos. Count Basie idolized Pete Johnson and Fats Waller for their piano playing.
