Good Remixes and New Song

"The latest single from the Pet Shop Boys is MIRACLES, a danceable song from their new career-spanning greatest hits set, PopArt. This CD includes two remixes of MIRACLES as well as a new b-side, TRANSPARENT.The MIRALCES remixes are fairly good, although neither one deviates much from the original. The extended remix is pretty much as you'd expect, although it unfortunately ditches the beautiful opening of the original version. The second remix was done by hot UK act, Lemon Jelly. The remix begins with some interesting background talking, sounding somewhat like Neil and Chris in the studio, and strips the song of most of its lyrics, concentrating on its groove. I like this remix, although quite a few fans have trashed it on the PSB official site.TRANSPARENT is a very good b-side with minimal and somewhat simplistic lyrics ("Wish I were transparent/ You could see right through me"). Much more trance-like in nature than Miracles, the song reminds me a bit of their earlier efforts, One of the Crowd and Samurai in Autumn.Overall, this CD is a good collection, likely to please PSB fans."
