"The quintessential drum and bass maestros Pendulum bring me a little piece of home, performing in London's Brixton Academy. This music represents a continued progression of the drum and bass genre, providing an intense live experience that feels long evolved from the drum and bass events I so enjoyed before I left for America. Aside from hearing Roni Size in Bristol with Reprazent, it is uncommon for me to find a drum and bass collective who are producing anything so thoroughly "live".
For those not indoctrinated into the drum and bass scene, this album may well feel relentless and impenetrable. This kind of music usually can be categorized primitively into everything liquid (light), and what you have here: hardstep/dark/guitars by the boatload, very much aggressive, full on drum and bass.
A quick preview of any Pendulum tracks will give you a clear idea if this album is for you. For anyone who knows Pendulum, this really is them at their cute little Australian bests. It's a good mix of the tracks they've been putting out for past few years, with all the big tune crowd pleasers (Slam/their mix of Voodoo People/Granite/etc.).
This album thoroughly gets five out of five from me."
