Oodles of Noodles, and worth the ride...

"At first listen I found myself fading in and out, sometimes thinking "this is a great riff" other times moving the needle around. This is some instrumental post-rock noodly stuff. For fans of American Don. Pele is a band that has room to grow, a mixture of math and melody, they have everything it takes to make a masterpiece, just fail to convey it. Great production, technical ability (I saw them play in Columbia MO, each had a whole bag of tricks... sounded dead-on to their record), and texture make me anxiously await their next venture. I think the best thing to do would be wait for a sunny day, put the CD into your walkman, and walk downtown while listening to this - - you'll feel good. I wouldn't relegate them to background music by any means; they are like a bulbous flower that has yet to bloom. Long live Pele."

"Like most people, I had never heard of Pele before Polyvinyl came out with this CD, but also like most people [well, those I let borrow the CD], I became immediately magnetized to it. It's an extremely fluid album of instrumentals; each track has such energy and beauty, with tinges of both emo and math rock. There's no real need for words -- energy and emotion abound, and you can feel it, regardless. Gorgeous and inspired."
