Pearl Jam ROCKS Indy!

"First things first: this is the ONLY show out of the 74 that features "Throw Your Arms Around Me", which should be reason enough for any die-hard fan to buy this CD. The song is performed by Eddie Vedder solo and is dedicated to his brother, who happens to be in the audience. The performance is very moving and is something no fan should be without.Elsewhere on the CD, the band pulls out all the stops and delivers a great show. Interstellar Overdrive, a short little instrumental (and a Pink Floyd cover, as I was told), opens the set and leads into the most overplayed song of the tour: Corduroy. Another overplayed (albeit great) song, Grievance, picks up where Corduroy left off and rocks out the crowd. One of my favorite Pearl Jam rockers, Spin The Black Circle, follows next, but this show's version isn't particularly impressive. Things pick up with a great version of Dissident, soon after which the band plays the usual pairing of Given To Fly and Nothing As It Seems: just two of literally dozens of great songs in its repertoire. The rest of the first CD is pretty standard as well, its two highlights being a great performance of Pilate and an awesome Not For You. For those of you who like as many Pearl Jam rarities on your live CD's as possible, the Yield B-Side, Leatherman, is also included here for your listening pleasure. The only real disappointment to me on this CD was that Pearl Jam didn't play Nothingman as they usually do after playing Betterman and Leatherman, but that's a minor complaint. On the second disc, the band delivers as many great performances as there are songs on the CD. The live version of Go rocks much harder than the Vs. version, making it one of my live favorites. Eddie slips some cool line changes into Do The Evolution, a usual encore staple. The band botches the intro to State Of Love And Trust a little bit, but really gets into the song later on and delivers an incredible rendition on it, one of my favorites. Crazy Mary, Small Town and Last Kiss are all as good performances as I've heard from this tour, while Rearviewmirror rocks like nothing else. Finally, a moving version of Indifference sets the listener up for one of the best live versions (6 minutes long!) of Neil Young's Rockin' In The Free World. Overall, a great show, certainly a must-have for fans of the band. If you're a new fan, however, I'd recommend checking out the show that won ME over first: 15/06/00 Katowice, Poland."
