"Perhaps the second Seattle performance was the finest in 2000 by Pearl Jam, but the Lubbock performance is far more charming in 2001 on compact disc. A spirited cover of the Buddy Holly song "Everyday" provides reason enough to purchase this, but even better is the greatest version of "In Hiding" yet recorded. Its grace carries over to "Lukin," a vitriolic rant that here gains depth without being declawed or neutered. Other standouts include "Given to Fly" and "Daughter," but the performance never once becomes hackneyed or stale. Some volumes in this series may excite only diehard fans, but the Lubbock performance is liable to draw compliments from friends, relatives, and even disagreeable roommates."
