"From the opening track 'Mio', this is classic Paulina Rubio to the closing 'Pobre Nina Rica'. There is nothing new here, just another of a string of compilations from the golden age of Paulina: I'm talking about her first four solos: 'La Chica Dorada'(5 tracks), '24 Kilates'(3 tracks), 'El Tiempo Es Oro'(5 tracks) and 'Planeta Paulina'(5 tracks). It's almost impossible to miss with such a lineup, except that its been done already, viz. 'Flashback', 'Top Hits', 'Serie de Oro', 'Sin Pausa'. among others, as well as the recently released (March, 2005) 'Latina'!
I will say, although there is nothing new here, this is my favorite "Hits" album. If you wanted only one, definitive Paulina cd, this would be the one. Now in terms of "divahood" I have never considered Paulina as a Diva, more a pop Icon. She is just too hard-working; you feel like she has had to struggle for everything she has, that nothing has come easy for her. The sound of this struggle comes through in each of the songs on this cd, to her credit, this is what defines her greatness. This is what puts her in a class of her own, without peer.
So I would rate this cd five stars. I love the depth of the feeling, the struggle.I don't know why Amazon rates this "LIVE" because it is obviously not; all the tracks are clear and crisp. The song selection is good, the only two questionable ones being 'Nieva' and 'Pobre Nina Rica'. And the artwork is very good."
