CD ReviewsThe Man is Back! kambo | Sydney, Australia | 11/19/2004 (4 out of 5 stars) "What a comeback by the Great Man.Nice thumpin' intro then,China Blue, a powerful ballad.Over You & Drifters are 2 steady rockers but Freedom is my Fave song off this album - classic Rodgers Blues/Ballad a la Bad Company era. Saw him touring this album in Australia,2001. Best voice in Blues/Rock & this is a neat collection of new material - Better than 1997's "Now" set." Never judge a CD by the cover art. This is FANTASTIC! Lyn Pastac Lynsey | West Hurley, NY | 10/26/2007 (4 out of 5 stars) "I have been a fan of Paul Rodgers since the very first time I heard his voice sing in 1974. I was 10 years old then. I bought this Paul CD this week. I am absolutely stunned at how great this is. I mention the cover art because like The FIRM's debut album, It provides no clue and absolutely no justice to the quality of the music inside. I suppose that might be one of the sad reasons why there are iPODS surrounding the CD buying camps more and more. But, I love to buy CD's as I did Vinyl records. The complete cohesive package.
This CD is an excellent rock record. Paul Rodgers' voice is one of the great British soul/blues/rock voices of all time. It is soaring on this. It is a perfect companion to any Bad Co., FREE, ewt al cd you might have already. The songs here are great vehicles for his voice. He is no poet. But, he is a melodicist with a good sense of emotional lyrics, a great band both here and on the road. I highly recommend this CD if you enjoy any or all phases of Paul Rodgers as vocalist; FREE, Bad Company, The Firm, The Law, or as a Solo artist. Also recommended is Muddy Waters' Blues by Paul. Stunning!" |
