After home-constructing his first two critically-acclaimed records, Paul Duncan made his way into the studio to create 2007's "Above The Trees." Working with friends who've played with the likes of Grizzly Bear, Rhys Chatham's Essentialist, Jim O'Rourke, Tortoise, The Vandermark Five, and Smog (to name a few), Paul built a monument to guitars, drums, piano, pedal steel, horns, strings, and his own undeniable voice. This turbulent and sensual process resulted in what may be Paul Duncan's most musically straightforward record - and possibly his most psychologically complex. Featuring photography by Mark Mahaney and design by Bryan Collins.
