"Paul Bley's Closer is one of the best musical documents i've ever come accross. one cant help but to compare it to Footloose, another legondary Bley recording. Bley's "jazz" approach, if you can call it that, is highly influenced by the modern classical movements of Debussy, Shoenberg, and Bartok, showing his power of melody rather than of chord changes. anyone who truly appreciates the art of sound must buy this album!"
