Patti is, as usual, flawless in her presentation .....

"Patti Cohenour is, as usual, flawless in her performance; she wouldn't, couldn't be anything other than flawless. It's her nature. This recording is literally a breath of fresh air - and comes to the world at a time when ugliness surrounds us from every side. When I put on the CD, I rested on the couch and just listened! The tender and gentle Irish poetry, the musical composition and vocal presentations are magically blended into a soothing source which is quietly capable of "resurrecting" one's weary spirit. I highly recommend this unique recording to all who long for spiritual and mental healing and an hour of peaceful, ethereal bliss.Patti Cohenour is one of America's treasures of Broadway! She has delighted audiences around the world with her clear, pure singing, and peerless dramatic delivery. She has performed numerous, important roles on Broadway, including the Mother Abbess in the revival of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, Christine Daae in the original company of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, Rosabud in THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD -- where she was presented the prestigious Clarence Derwent Award, and received a Tony and Drama Desk nomination. Her portrayal of Mary Jane Wilkes in BIG RIVER also earned her a Drama Desk nomination, and the Theater World Award, which she received for both BIG RIVER and her critically acclaimed performance as Mimi in the New York Shakespeare Festival's production of LA BOHEME.TO AN ISLE IN THE WATER is based on the Poetry of Nobel Laureate, WILLIAM BUTLER YEATS, set to music by Emmy Award winning composer John Aschenbrenner. Patti Cohenour sings 18 poems, accompanied by the American Theatre Orchestra, conducted by Paul Gemignani. My hope is that those who read this too-simple review will purchase and listen, often, to this musical gem. And after becoming "friendly" with the score, will write a more deserving review. Enjoy!Dan Paulos"

Patti Cohenour is a Broadway star with an incredible voice. She's been nominated for Tony and Drama Desk awards thanks to her roles in The Mystery of Edwin Drood. To An Isle in the Water is an ambitious project, in which Cohenour sings the words of the Nobel Laureate poet William Butler Yeats, set to original orchestral music composed by John Aschenbrenner. The 18 poems flow into each other, interconnected by the theme of love -- once again, Cohenour calls upon her acting skills, portraying a woman looking back on her long-over love affair with a poet. This is definitely one of the most unique and original albums I have heard this year, and you can find out more about the project at the Islecd.com"
