For those who believe in the power of music, Pati (pah-tee) introduces a new standard. "Nesian" (nee-shan,"islander"), the debut CD from Pati, is a promising collection of original and cover songs, and has become a favorite among the island music scene. Even before its release, "Island Girls" a mid-tempo, reggae flavored song from "Nesian", was already lighting up request lines at local radio stations. Other highlights from the album include the urban-slanted groove "Getaway" and the soothing ballad "If I Ever", a duet featuring Jay of TendeRoni.
This past year Pati has had the opportunity to perform in front of over 250,000 people, as well as being broadcasted singing the national anthem at the Staples Center on November 28, 2001 for the Los Angeles Clippers on Fox Sports 2. He has also had the privilege of opening for such headliners like Aswad, Coolio, Krayzie Bone, Eden?s Crush, and Don Ho. His sold out tours in Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, and the West Coast have created worldwide excitement.
With the first single "Island Girls", he has managed to become the first local recording artist to chart at #1 across the state in multiple radio formats simultaneously. A Hawaii Music Award Winner for "Album and New Artist of the Year", "Nesian" debuted at #5 locally, and placed in the Top 1000 on www.towerrecords.com. Already a star on the rise, this energetic performer should be one to watch for, so keep your eyes open!
