CD ReviewsAn awesome cd that has no chance of going mainstream J. Ton | SoCal | 10/07/2004 (4 out of 5 stars) "just to get it out, this album is awesome. it will play in rotation car for months. why? as had been said before, the muscianship on this cd is amazing. if you enjoy breaks in your songs, changes of pace, well designed instrumentals (like i do) this cd rocks. The lyrics are very deep and meaningful. u can feel Ladd's pain. This album is like his audio diary. its a testament to this stretch of his life. its very very(some may think overly) perosnal, and becasue of that, the themes of heartbreak, depression, suicidal tendancies and resentment reveal themselves bluntly in the lyrics. some may think Ladd is whining too much (even for an "emo" cd)but if you take it for what it is, this cd gets done what music is suppose to do. the fundamental foundation of music is to get your thoughts into musical harmony. Park isnt trying to sell a millions copies. if you listen to a band like story of the year(who i think are now GOLD in sales) most of their lyrics lack any kind of substance and underlying meaning. its G rated material, great for KISS FM and not get bashed on by concerned parents. But i always believed lyrics should have some level of depth. i love this cd, some will hate it. if you listen to this album and think its too emotionally charged, but like the style of playing, listen to their older record "no signal". its less grahically emotionally charged and painful but still contains the muscianship found on "It Wont Snow" only reason this dosnt get 5 stars is the video of codex avellum doesnt use the live sound from where they are playing. the audio/lip syncho sucks too. i guess they got lazy making the enhance features on this cd. " Nothing less than breathtaking... J. Kingma | 01/04/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is one of the most emotionally packed albums I've ever heard. The lyrics are anything but cliche. The lyrics are filled with angst and personal demons all spilled out on paper, with nothing left out. The musical aspect is also amazing. The guitar work is complex but not over done and the drummer is unbelieveable. This band is very tight and together. One of the best 10 song albums I've ever bought and it's worth every penny. Don't be fooled by the small label; Lobster records has a lot of talent and Park is by far the cream of the crop. Not owning this album is highly frowned upon and i suggest that you buy it as soon as you're done reading this review. Guarenteed to alter your moods."
