CD1, subtitled "Paris by Day," pursues a funky jazz-breaks vibe with offerings from heavyweights Etienne De Crecy ("Tempovision") and Alex Gopher, whose breathy electro ballad "Ralph and Kathy" drops things down a gear. Both these tracks sit comfortably next to the atmospheric soundscapes of the lesser-known artists Coco Suma, Readymade, and Patchworks, whose sparse "I Guess You Always Knew" sums up the overall feel of the mix. CD2 is an excursion through well-worn house music, kicking off strongly with the percussive "Sands of Time" by Next Evidence and continuing through a funky tribal vein with Kiko's "Italimatic" and the D&B mode of DJ Roussia & Les Malones. There are no real musical surprises here, but it's a well put-together compilation all the same. --Miles Atkinson« less

"Having not particularly cared for Paris Lounge 1, I was somewhat reluctant to purchase PL2. Boy, am I glad I did! It is infinitely more of what you'd expect from a Parisian chill-out compilation, no matter what other reviewers claim: more consistant, more contemporary, and just more ambient. Much of the material was recorded specifically for this CD. If they can continue producing this series and maintain this level of artistry, let's hope they go on forever. A 5+++ star aural gem!"
Really really great

"Much to my suprise, this great collection is filled with original tracks that have a strong "chill" sound with occasional very light funk tracks (like "eggs"). Westernize is campy and epic at the same time. Motherless Child is a post-modern torch song piece. Once of the better CD's I have found lately. My only complaint is that this "Paris" compilation sometimes sounds more like American music."
Too many lounge cd's, but

"The tracks seemed to have an edge to them and are not boring. I would recommend this CD to people who want to hear something different and like variety between tracks. I enjoyed CD1 more. CD2 is more housey, not that I don't like house, but some of the tracks had been heard on other CD,s."
This CD is amazing
