"One of the greatest albums released during the early 80's by NYC's "SAR" label was this great Lp now re-issued on CD format. Mario Munoz "Papaito" rise as a sonero surprised many, but not connoseurs who saw him sing and even improvise "sones" and "guajiras" while playing the "timbalitos" as a member of the cuban, legendary "Sonora Matancera". "Papaito" sings some of the late Abelardo Barroso sones with a voice and style somewhat reminiscent of that of the late cuban sonero Cheo Marquetti. "Homenaje A Barroso" was one of the best selling "SAR" album. A great compilation."
