Amazon.comNeotraditional conjunto outfits have always been known for thumping polkas and soaring vocals harmonies. This CD offers more of the same, nothing new actually. The band made hay in early press interviews about returning to their roots by eschewing the minimal keyboards they utilized on their previous effort, Duele el Amor. It's a difference hardly worth noting but the material here is still good enough to warrant attention and still above the dreck currently being traded in the flacid Tejano market. From the opening cut "Te Seguire," the music swings with the vocal harmonies of Johnny and James Arreola. Notable cuts include the midtempo polka "Me Gustas Mucho" and the galloping "Loco Enamorado," although at times the lyrics sound so simple they're inane. Also noteworthy, the CD booklet includes a lyric sheet. --Ramiro Burr
