CD ReviewsOne of the most criminally overlooked albums... Bruce | 07/24/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "paloma's "the spooky loop" is, in my estimation, one of the most criminally overlooked albums of the 90s. even those who i would think should know about this album don't. i think the unfortunate choice of DB records was a key factor in "the spooky loop" never gaining the recognition it deserved. it is at once dark and brooding and soaring and beautiful. the music sits somewhere between radiohead and the new radicals (i know that sounds odd, but it's the best comparison i can come up with), while the lyrics are brutally honest and soul searching, not entirely unlike early pedro the lion. as far as i know, this is the only album paloma ever released (the other paloma album on amazon is a different band) and i, for one, will mourn the loss of one of the most brilliant bands no one's ever heard of." Dark - beautiful - powerful Joshua D. Wisniewski | Phoenix, AZ | 01/12/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "i absolutely love every second of this album! if you want something that is fresh and isn't the cute, safe, mass produced gunk music, then please do yourself a much needed favor and buy this any way you can! i've had this cd for ~9 years and i still love it and listen to it regularly! i just wish they made 10 more albums!!! everything is superb, vocals, song writing, great/unique guitars, atmospheric synths, sweet organs, excellent drums! basically it is wholly and completely awesome." Arty, dark, moody and rocking! lUKE wORLE | virginia beach, va | 04/27/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "This record has artistry coupled with integrity that is a rare match in many of today's trendy rock scenes. This record has the vibe, spirit and heart of true art and I highly reccomend it."
