A good album but certainly not their best

"For one to look at Out of the Grey to be a "pop" duo would be an overstatement. They truly incorporate an artful presence with every song engaging a story with intellect and grace. What falls short with 6.1 is that it isn't over the top like what they've done on previous releases. From my personal standpoint, I would rank their last effort "See Inside" as their absolute best, so far! But 6.1 isn't without it's strong composition! It's an exceptional piece of work that works really well, however, it tries too hard to color inside the lines. One of the great things about albums like their debut, "The Shape of Grace," and "Gravity," (I hated Diamond Days) and the beautifully stellar "See Inside," is that their writing was so very free-natured. This album almost seems like they spent too much time ensuring a surefire hit with songs like "I want everything" and "Shine like crazy" which to me is definitely several steps backward for a group that's created classic songs like "Wishes," "I'll leave the light on," "Bird on a Wire," and "Winter Sun." Nevertheless, buy this album simply because they are "Out of the Grey." Just know you aren't getting the same product that you're used to from these folks!"
Out of the Grey, but full of talent

"The female vocals shine like crazy on this CD of catchy tunes. The lyrics are definitely Christian and inspiring, backed by solid musicians. This album of hits will grow on you, so listen to it over and over. I know it sounds and feels good on a misty morning in Georgia, with a cup of hot coffee sitting next to me and the wind at my back, and the Spirit of God in the air. In an age of techno anti-melody anger-inspired pop songs, Out of the Grey emerges with true Jesus-inspired music that will soothe your soul. Buy one for yourself and for a friend!"
