"Osho was one of the enlightened masters of the world, and he
seems to have spoken about all of the major aspects of human
experience. I can probably do no better here than to provide
you with a few quotations and excerpts, so here they are:"Try to find your innermost center,
where you are always alone, have
always been alone....it is so full and so
complete and so overflowing with all
the juices of life, with all the beauties
and benedictions of existence, that
once you have tasted aloneness the
pain in your heart will disappear." Osho"There is no guarantee against loneliness,
says Osho. Even relationships just create a
temporary illusion that you are not alone.
In this talk he explains that the only freedom
from the fear of loneliness is to become aware
of your aloneness, and the beauty and power of
it." (from back cover)"This talk is taken from a series [of 44 talks]
entitled 'The Path of the Mystic', which has been
made into a book of the same name." (CD booklet)"My message is not a doctrine, not a philosophy.
My message is a certain alchemy, a science of
transformation." Osho (CD booklet) I first encountered Osho as "Bhaghwan Shree Rajneesh",
and read his _The Way of the White Cloud_. Much of what
he said there made alot of sense to me. Later I saw a
few of his videotaped talks on the public access channel,
and saw him in an even more profound way. The way that
he talked was different from anyone else I'd heard...he
spoke in a very peaceful way, from a meditative state,
often at a very simple and poetic level, sometimes seeming
to verbally wander at random, yet always showing an active
intelligence and wisdom that answers the question in full. My preference in experiencing him is: video (to see his
peacefulness and joy, expressions and gestures), CD/tape (to
hear his meditative voice), book (the intellectual part of
the message). This CD follows a usual format: some introductory music
(1:21 minutes), a question read to him (0:11), his long
meditative answer (49:40), closing music (3:39). Having heard some 20 or so talks of his, I'd say this is a
good solid effort, with a message of value to many people.
Some of his talks are more "interesting", and some are funnier
(in many talks he tells jokes!) ... this is more of a "bread
and butter" talk than a "dessert". His best work is probably
the active meditation/kundalini exercises, but much can also
be gained on a different level by experiencing his talks. This
one in particular is a lesson I'm still learning ... acting from
an empty state of loneliness usually doesn't produce the quality
of results and happiness in life that comes from acting from a
state of fullness/overflowingness. The latter results from
being centered/grounded, being true to your inner self, letting
your body and mind become calm and to self-rejuvenate, etc.
After listening to this talk, I saw that once again he's
right. I also felt a bit introspective and sad, being reminded
of loneliness (mine and others') ... and a certain amount of work
needs to be done to allow and energize the inner flowering of
Self of which he speaks :-) If the topic of this CD speaks to you, by all means pick it up
and check it out. For some it may give hope, and if it doesn't
work for you, sell it as a used item. ... Peace, John McP"
