"an extremely solid album. though the sound quality is not too good on all of the tracks, o.p. gets mic'd very well. "bohemia after dark" is insanely good with kenny clarke on drums. "why not, that's why" is also an excellent example of op's mastery of the bass. still, with exception of kenny clarke and, of course, oscar himself, there's nothing exceptional about this album, which is why i'm only giving it 4 stars. having said that if you just want to listen to what all jazz bassists should be aiming to be then this is it."
