Album DescriptionCesira and her 13-year-old daughter, Rosetta, seek refuge in the mountains of Lazio after a bombing in Rome during the second world war. When the allies break through the front, the two women are caught by a patrol of Moroccan soldiers who rape both of them. 30 years after the original film which was awarded the Palme d'or in Cannes, Sophia Loren, now at a more credible age, plays again the role that made her win an Oscar prize. The story is still the one taken from Moravia's novel but the original movie is unsurpassed by the remake, in spite of Loren's efforts which are greater than Dino Risi's. Cinevox. 2006
