"DUMBO (1941) is regarded by many as one of the five animated films from the apex of Disney's golden age, before World War II changed everything. The score, by Frank Churchill and Oliver Wallace, has such song favorites as "When I See an Elephant Fly" and "Baby Mine." Curiously, the background music score has only been available, partially, on an lp issued back in the mid-50's. This CD release has all the available music tracks, taken from the actual recording sessions, and is a must for any collector of film music, as well as anyone devoted to the great Disney films.
Don't expect modern stereo sound, however, as this music was originally recorded back in the early 40's. However, these are the actual cues taken from the film itself, with no dialogue or sound effects getting in the way.
So, enjoy the songs and the music, as they were always meant to be heard, on this, the most complete recording of this score you're ever likely to get.
