CD Reviews

Just trying to help.

"I do not own this album, but I gave it 4 stars because the music on it is fairly good. I almost bought this album in order to get the song that Jimmy McElroy skates to in the first skating scene, but that song is not on this album. So I did some research and located the song and I thought I would share it with anyone else looking for it. It is: Time To Say Goodbye by Sarah Brightman & Andrea Bocelli."

(3 out of 5 stars)

"First off, I don't own this item. I gave it three stars because it still contains several of the songs that were in the movie, but the one I really wanted was the Flash Gordon Theme by Queen. Where is it? Not only was it in the movie but it featured prominently. This song alone was going to cause me to buy this soundtrack, and the fact that the song is missing has really turned me off from the whole thing."

"After I heard Bo Bice's magnificent rendition of the title track, I decided I just HAD to have this CD. Bo sings this hilarious song so earnestly and with such power... I feel compelled to listen to it over and over again! His voice just soars. On youtube, you can watch the music video of Bo singing "Blades of Glory" while hamming it up at a grand piano--in a powder blue tux, no less! Ben Stiller picked the perfect person to sing the title song for this movie because nobody could carry it off like Bo Bice does. I think this song is destined to become a classic.

I'm actually enjoying the entire album. Many of the songs make me want to move and dance, so I may just use this CD to exercise by. I was tempted to give it five stars for the title track alone, but I've decided to give it four stars because I'm not crazy about hearing spoken lines from the movie between the songs (is that commonly done for soundtracks nowadays?). I liked the movie and all the music on this album, but those spoken lines get a little old after awhile because I play the album often. In the movie itself, I particularly loved the gorgeous song by Sarah Brightman & Andrea Bocelli, so I was disappointed that it was not included on the CD. But the title track alone makes up for any of those minor shortcomings, and there's other good music on this album, so I recommend this CD as well worth the price!"
