"You have to love Frank Wildhorn. The Scarlett Pimpernel has appeal to the classical romantic in all of us with sword play, operatic themes, larger than life setting and large chorus. If you like the darkness of Jekyl and Hyde you will love Chauvelin, all of Wildhorn's composition and all of this performance have the same dark setting but add altruistic ideals, full throated tenor climaxes, inspiring solo and choral speach, whirlwind romance and a more classical, heart pounding score and you have my favorite Frank Wildhorn work. If you are looking for the best recording, here it is. No songs are missing and all performances are superior, no other recording matches."
