"As a child,my grandmother, who lived in Abruzzi,Italy, would send my sister and I 45 LP records on occasion. In 1971,we received Orietta Berti's Via Dei Ciclamini and I noticed, even at my age of eight, how vocally talented she was.I went on to listen to rock bands in my teens and twenties, and forgot about Italian music. While recently looking for magazines in my basement,I rediscovered that old LP with the beautiful Orietta's gentle smile.Looking through various sights and eventually Amazon,I saw that she had gone on to make many more albums. This particular set intrigued me,because it spanned the years of my childhood, from 1963 to 1978.The set comes in a sturdy cardboard box with five individual disks, each in a quality jacket of it's own.A booklet written in Italian is also included and chronicles the more than 100 songs as they were released.Every cd has a distinct flavor of the time period Orietta lived through and showcases her amazing vocals in very different arrangements. From soft ballads that touch one's heart to Italian Europop,it's all here.I can highly recommend this set of cd's as some of the best Italian music ever recorded."
