"These works are small in scope, scored for a small orchestra and lack the dynamic range of say, a Beethoven symphony. For these reasons it would be easy to dismiss them as trivial, but this would be a mistake. The unique voicings, haunting melodies and rhythmic base lines will on repeated listenings embed these works firmly in the subconscious. I am hopeful that Naxos and this orchestra in particular will see fit to rescue from oblivion more works by this intriguing and neglected composer."
