"I love Willie Nelson and I love Leon Russell, so naturally, I was very excited to see a duet album come out. What a disappointment! It is so weak in so many ways. The album should've been called:" WILLIE OVER SINGS LEON ON EVERY TRACK." That is exactly the case friends. Willie's voice dominates every song with only a shadow of another male voice in the background that is so soft, you can't tell whose voice it is. Leon deserves better than that! The arrangements are awful as well with a sort of jazzy/Texas swing beat on the livelier songs that seems to compete with Willie's voice for attention, rather than complimenting him. Forget Leon, you can't even tell he's contributing anything. The slower melodies like Danny Boy are slowed down to a boring, almost agonizing tempo again with Willie crooning pretty much alone. When I saw the line up of songs, I was intrigued, as many of them are favorites of mine. But, even though I love Willie's voice, he should have left most of these alone. This album is a monumental waste of time & money. Be sure you listen to the samples before deciding whether or not to purchase."
