"Having been a Charles Earland fan since the first release of "Black Talk" in my teens & his collaborations with Lou Donaldson in the 60's, I had some questions when I noted the pairing of Najee initially, but "If Only for 1 Night" turned out to be anything but a smooth jazz set. Like pretty much all of the previous Earland releases, the music burns white hot from beginning to end with brother Najee seamlessly fitting into the groove on each piece. The sad part about this is that this was Earland's last recording before his untimely passing; I would have loved to see what other monster CD's would have come of this collaboration. No complaints!"
