"I love this collection of ballads by Oum Kalthoum. It reads like divine poetry sung by a muezzin. Most of these songs are lovesongs, but the lyrics are beautiful and classic, and her voice is as bright as the cardinal heart bleeding across a canopy of crystalline irises. Her voice weeps with regret and humility...like a bedouin wailing at the stars. The accompaniment accentuates her desert voice in their subtlety, a great partnership."
Great into to her music
