Getting Under My Skin

"Sometimes it's hard to reconcile "The Blues" with someone who has a really good voice...it just won't match up ALL the time. So maybe it's best not to categorize this record as "The Blues." Nevertheless, Olga is getting at something "down low" and all her own and, in the process, is staking out some important territory in American music in the same way, for example, Gillian Welch has in the bluegrass world.

The music is deceptively simple (definitely influenced by the North Mississippi sensibility) but full of nuance and emotion. Highlights include "Kiss Your Blues Away," "Remind Me Who I'm Talking To" and "Goin' to Catch My Baby."
