Synopsis

Product Description
For years, Jeannine Dennis and Tom Albrecht have performed together during at annual concerts at their church. Their Christmas concert in 2006 was the inspiration for this CD, a beautiful collection of sacred and Classical Christmas music. Jeannine Dennis was born in San Jose, California where she began playing the flute in 1980 at the age of 9. She studied at San Jose State Universitey with Isabelle Chapuis, earning her Bachelor of Music degree in 1993. Her Master of Music degree and Doctor of Music Arts degree were earned at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music where she studied with Dr. Bradley Garner. Currently she teaches privately and performs solo recitals around the U.S. with pianist Philip Amalong. She also plays regularly in her church. Tom Albrecht has served as an accompanist for instrumentalists, vocal soloists, and choral groups for most of his life. He grew up in a family that emphasized appreciation of classical music and the traditional music of the Lutheran Church. Having been trained as a pianist from a young age, Tom discovered early in his life that accompanying -- more so than playing as a soloist -- fit his personality and talents best. "Accompanying allows the pianist to play a vital role -- one that makes or breaks the performance -- without having to face the same level of pressure and criticism that soloists sometimes experience," he says. Tom is not a full-time musician. With a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford University, he works in the field of magnetic recording research for Hitachi Global Storage Technologies in San Jose. He is married and has three young daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys restoring antique phonographs, radios, and television sets to working order and has a moderate collection of such artifacts. One of his restoration projects -- a 100 year old pump-style reed organ -- combines his interest in music and antiques.

"This is a beautiful background cd, no loud sounds, very peaceful. It is good for listening as you prepare for your Christmas celebration."
