CD Reviews

One Of The Best Metalcore Bands Ever
Raised Fist | Alberta, Canada | 09/16/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The Odd Project, what can you say about them, they are extremley talented for one. The guitar players are insane, and they definatley have a different style, and their vocalist has a fine tuned metal voice. their backup vocals make it sound almost post hardcore at points. But the point is this is one of the best and most unique metalcore bands out there, and if you can try to find their july 2003 demo and october 2002 demo because they are really good too."
Crushing, yet beautiful

"From the first scream on "Statistics like Cigarettes", to the last piano driven tear on "Silver Screen Lovers", Odd Project hit you hard with their ground breaking approach to modern day hardcore metal. Although they don't fit into any specific genre due to the mass influences they bring, the album can best be described as emotional. And I'm not talking about the kind of emotional that you see on MTV. I'm talking about the kind that makes you sit back and say, "Wow!" The music seems to describe the mood that the lyrical content provides. The songs are unpredictable, and you won't hear any generic breakdowns. If there is a breakdown, it will hit you when you least expect it. The best thing about this album is how you can relate to every song, especially "Silver Screen Lovers". Odd Project just has a way of putting the pictures in your head to music. Every song is just as good as the next, only to be divided by the two emotional, almost depressing tracks, "Love", and "The Wanderer". I highly recommend this album to anybody who is looking for that creative spark in the music industry."
