CD ReviewsIn the year 2525...(or 2005?) Noel Pratt | Washington, D.C., and better places | 12/30/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "When the computers themselves are gathered around our remains and start wishing they were musical instruments and decide to try this cool human-devised thing called art, and when they set about that task, this is what I imagine the results might sound like. Stapleton's pieces in particular. The computers even allow in fragments (*we* still call them samples) of the human voice, adding to a spectacularly spooky brew. There is less in terms of sheer dissonance on this record than on your average Nurse With Wound title, much more of streamlined resonance. And less of Tibet himself here than on any Current 93, though when he's there -- when the computers proffer him -- he comes in as the soothing, elegant strain he is, yet as one who understands, who stands under and supports and melds with what the technology is now up to. If you like the above artists, you should go for the treats here." Annoy your neighbours! Noel Pratt | 01/27/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "Titles: 1. I Left Her For A Cartoon Octopus (16:57) 2. The Fire Of The Mind (18:01) 3. The Dead Side Of The Moon (21:28) 4. Bubblehead (19:55) Total - 76:23This disc is very similar to the songs of Nurse With Wound; noisy, strange, and completely unpredictable. The Dead Side of the Moon is probably my favourite track. This disc ranks right up there with Thunder Perfect Mind and Homotopy To Marie."
