To hell with vocals...

"This album is well worth checking out if your a fan of instrumental/math/post rock bands or just good music in general. On 'a quiet storm' Atlanta's Ocelot combine tight rhythms, driving bass lines, chiming guitar lines, cool time changes and a range of sonic innovation- all the things you've come to expect from a good instrumental album. Its not all guitars, bass and drums though, the album opens and closes with some glacial ambient sounds and also features a lovely finger picked acoustic guitar song near the end of the album sounding like pullman or one of ghosts and vodka's acoustic tracks. This album has a very cohesive feel yet it's full of dynamics and intersting musical ideas so you never get bored or start wishing there was some vocals. The art work for this cd is also cool featuring some neat paper cutting skills and a dark broody sky with some birds roosting on pylons.
Coming across like a less jazzy rumah sakit this album would be a great addition to your collection, highly recommended for fans of the mercury program, maserati, paul newman, mt. st. helens, the letter e, volta do mar, unwed sailor, gwei-lo, the cancer conspiracy etc.
