CD Reviews

A Glimmering Pearl Hidden in the Depths of the Ocean

"I bought this CD right here from amazon.com after listening to some clips of this CD from Origa's website. This CD is definitely a listening experience, as most of the music does indeed come from the era of queens - one look at the CD booklet shows that most of the compositions were written around the 1500's. Take those melodies with lyrics by Origa and instrumentation that could only be the product of living in modern Japan, and you get a feel for 'Era of Queens'. I found that this CD sounded a bit repetitive after the first listen, but the second and third times were the charm... every song is very good. Most of the lyrics on this CD are sung in English, Italian, and Origa's own gibberish. The price is worth it if you like the music."
Wonderful voice, wish there was more to listen to...

"After listening to samples provided on her website, Origa does not disappoint with this release. A little on the mellow side, this CD is great listening when you just need to chill awhile. The second track "Diva" is my current favorite with a faster pace. However, with total running time around 35 minutes, I wish there was more."
Great CD... expensive!

"Great CD. As said before the CD is very relaxing and of a slower pace; always suiting with a voice like hers.

Personal highlights:

Diva, Electra's Song, Serenata, and my all-time favorite Lullaby

However, it leaves much to be desired. It's unfortunate the CD is so short in length and is rather pricey due to lack of availability (good lord how to afford the others?). With various foreign favorites that have become popular over time, such as Sigur Ros, I'm curious if Origa might get more exposure in America beyond anime fans. Her work surely deserves it."
