They are the One & Only

"NRBQ can play like nobody's business but the bottom line has always been on fun. They are best when captured live and this CD does a good job of doing that. If you have not had the opportunity to catch them live you must understand that this is a very visul band. Terry Adams's unique style of play on the keyboards along with the joy The "Q" has in performing can only truly come through when captured live. If you have not seen them give this CD 4 stars, if you have it gets 5. Starting with a great version of I Got a Rocket in My Pocket to a rollicking title track this CD is strong throughout. NRBQ live is always best when they are accompanied by horns as they are on this CD. In this case it is the Sun Ra Arkestra. Johnny makes a great contribution with Be Here Now which could have been written by the Beatles in their prime. I love the version of Wacky Tobacky and can visulize the antics that went along with it. It is real nice to have another version of Ain't no Free to listen to and a good one it is. Out the Windo and Jump Man Jump are classic examples of how good these guys are and Mule in The Corn is Classic NRBQ. This CD has much of the energy and frivolity of God Bless Us All and has much more punch then Tokyo. If you are new to NRBQ this will give you a real good feel for the band as it is constituted today. Do yourself a favor get this CD and better yet go see the band play."
NRBQ keep rollin' along

"This album is proof that NRBQ are still one of the finest bar/party bands around. While the previous "Tokyo" live CD included some good tracks, this disc contains a fantastic performance by the band. The addition of the horn section fills things out with some great playing. The guys still work magic. Highly recommended."
GREAT CD AND FUN SET

"First of all, no live cd is ever a substitute for seeing this band.
Secondly, this is a live set with the recent rendition of the band. It has Johnny on guitar, not Al. No big deal, Johnny fills in just fine ( I know that he is not as talented as Al but he is a fine substitute).
The song selection on this cd is what makes it so good. All teh songs are great but my favorites are;
"Girl Scout Cookies" the epitome of an NRBQ song. Fun, eccentric with great musicianship.
"Its a Wild Weekend" rocks.
"I got a rocket in my pocket" allows the band to extend themsleves so everybody solos.
"Be here now" is a great power pop work.
"If I don't have you" showcases the singing and harmonizing.
"Paris" is a french song where the horns are pulled out and become the dominant sound.
"You got to be Loose" works as a great encore number for this concert work.
This is a fun cd that can be played from start to finish and also captures a little of the magic of seeing them live.
I have all the NRBQ cds and this is one of the best. If your a fan, get this. If you are curious, then this acts as a fine introduction."
