CD Reviews

Awesome
K. Beisel | 10/31/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The new CD by this Italian band is a must CD for fans of Porcupine Tree, Blackfield, No Man & Steven Wilson! Highlights include the 15 minute epic 'From Silence to Noise', and the epic piano/mellotron driven ballad 'Someone Starts To Fade Away' (which features No-Man's Tim Bowness on vocals). This 2 disc edition includes an exclusive 5 track bonus disc (which includes the video for `Lightdark')."
Multi-Textured Soundscapes

(4 out of 5 stars)

"As you are likely to read ad nauseam, Lightdark is an album for those who are fans of the No-Man and the Blackfield styles. This is one instance when a statement like that is entirely true. I came to hear Nosound not only on the recommendation of a friend, but because I strongly enjoy both of the aforementioned groups.

Lightdark is almost entirely mellow, consisting of multi-textured soundscapes fashioned into songs. My favorites are the atmospheric From Silence to Noise, Someone Starts to Fade Away which features Tim Bowness on vocals, and from the second disc Cold Afterall which is entirely in the spirit of Porcupine Tree. Like the Elephant, also from the second disc, is a rousing hard-charging instrumental that is utterly unlike anything else on the album.

The CDs come housed in an attractive tri-fold typical of the issues of the K-scope family and are accompanied by a rather thick booklet containing lyrics, album information, and pictures that fit the spirit of the music.

If you are a fan of No-Man, Blackfield, and/or Porcupine Tree and you haven't yet acquired this then put it on your list. You're gonna love it."
