"Boyd Rice is one of the great unsung heroes of our time. Let's face it most people don't know who Boyd is but that is only due to their ignorance. This muli-talented artist is know to we the select few and that's the way it should be. "Children of the Black Sun" is a sonic insult and complement at the same time. It creates a mood that uleashes an unlimited amoumt of emmotions all meant to harden the metal of your soul and spine. Live for you.. live for life ... defend your right to survive. The only short coming is the DVD. Why it exists is beyond me. CUT IT OUT!"

"Imagine being crushed by a large boulder. Imagine being in the bottom of a cave with no light source. Imagine the darkness of the grave. Imagine the coldness of space.
Despite this album's short length (31:02), there is no break between any of the tracks.
Really, consider this a single piece, "Children of the Black Sun," which has been divided into eight movements.
Organ, timpani, brass, harp, fire, vocals -- this album is roughly the sonic equivalent of Dante's "Inferno."
Pack a lunch (or at least a flask)."
