CD ReviewsDon't mix it up! It's the 60's Nirvana... fu wai | Hong Kong, not applicable Hong Kong | 08/03/2000 (3 out of 5 stars) "The first Nirvana existed in the 60's and early 70's. "Local Aethestic" is their last album. Nirvana was a minor cult figure famous for their catchy psychedelic pop songs, but in this album (their last album), the only member left(Patrick Campbell-Lyons) produced this truly progressive rock album. The opening of each track are quite impressive, but unfortunately they soon diluted by the inept psychedelic pop remnants of their former glory. Actually not their best, but with merit, and the arrangement is clever and complex, too." Very good progression to progressive rock 05/28/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "After Alex Spyropoulos left Nirvana after "Black Flower"(not availabe on Amazon), Patrick Campbell-Lyons surrounded himself with highly respected session musicians, and released a jazz-influenced Progressive Rock album which brought Nirvana well and truly into the early 70's. Some people might resist listening to a CD that features only 2 lengthy tracks, but both are inventive, complex arrangements, that help to build on Nirvana's musical credibility, which sadly was all that this album got for its efforts."
