Nino Bravo's range was incredible, from low baritone to unbelievable high lyrical notes, never falsetto. He also had that angelic, otherworldly quality that I have only found in Karen Carpenter, a voice that transcends the music and technique to touch all of us in a spiritual way. He died in the height of his career, driving on his way to a concert. When him and Karen died, I mourned the loss of two voices that could never be replaced in this generation.
