CD Reviews

Very Awesome Power Metal with Video Game Elements

"I got into Power Metal a couple of years ago and since then it has definately become my favorite type of music. I always liked the crazy speed of punk and the epicness and musicianship of metal. So when you fuse the two it's great. And on "Symphony of the Night" Nightscape manages to do just that. Now some of my friends have trouble with the lyrical themes (wizards, beasts, magical spells) but if you're into the pure escapism that is power metal, you probably like that. And Nightscape has plenty of it. Strangely enough alot of the riffs, and harmonized parts sound alot like the music from the game "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" for the Playstation. Which in my opinion is a good thing. I don't really know what to say other than it's really good, fun, complex power metal that'll have you smiling and wanting to slay orcs and cast magical spells. Give it a try and you'll probably like it!"
Very nice symphonic power metal.

"I'm so jaded these days about on bands that sound like Rhapsody or Stratovarius knockoffs so most power metal's worth only one listen. But I can't stop listening to this. You can tell these guys are fired up, the vocalist is great, and if I had to describe it to someone it'd be 'a cross between Symphony X and Royal Hunt.'

However, if you're in North America I suggest you get the domestic release called 'Sympathy of the Night' for half the price. Amazon has it too."
