Now this is world music--the kind of sound that defies classification and stretches itself beyond musical borders. Following up her multiple Dove Award-winning debut, Nicole C. Mullen is back with a vengeance on Talk About... more » It. The energetic release carries a warm and joyous feel that unites rather than divides through its incorporation of pop, R&B, hip-hop, and gospel. This melting-pot strategy complements Mullen's lyrical dedication to racial reconciliation. For example, on the rocking and rollicking "Black Light," Mullen sings about the need for integrity in today's leaders. She can also jam hard on such numbers as the release's title track, "Witness," and "Sometimes." Mullen changes speeds well on "Baby Girl" and "Let Me Go," paying musical homage to the likes of Stevie Wonder and Sly and the Family Stone. In fact, producer (and husband) David Mullen amply uses horns throughout, giving a slight wink to '60s soul. The ultimate result is a wonderful collage of stylish influences that will please music fans on repeated listens. --Michael Lyttle« less

"What a voice!!!!!!Following her smash, self-titled debut album, Nicole C. Mullen took the Christian rock world by storm in 2001 with the release of the single "Call On Jesus." Quickly rising to the top of all the Christian charts, and staying there for many months, Nicole became a Christian household name. Nearly two years later, "Call On Jesus" remains one of the most requested songs on Christian radio stations. This album, however, is much more than just that single. It contains a wide range of musical styles, from hip hop, to rock, to ballads. In addition, peppered throughout the album are little snippets that I can best described as a look into Nicole's heart (listen to "All Aboard," "#27," and "Jas Class," along with the end after "When Heaven Calls."No matter what your musical taste, Nicole C. Mullen has not only included it on this album, but she has nailed each and every one. Without a doubt, one of the best releases in 2001."

"I bought this cd 2 years ago based on a few clips I could download. I have a hard time choosing words that do justice to the power and the impact that the messages in her music send to me. "When you call on Jesus all things ARE possible".
For those of you who have children make sure that you listen to all of #14. She sings a bedtime song to her children that is so touching."
