A little different than usual Newsboys fare. A few good songs, but it seems like they're trying a little too hard to stay in the game this time around.

1st Inpop-Newsboys record- and it's a winner!

"It's the *signature* Christian/pop/rock Newsboys sound reinvented- and it works!
...Not since Thrive, and maybe even Going Public & Not Ashamed(?), have we had a collection similar to this. It's mainly upbeat pop, and sometimes quirky, though not as edgy as we might expect. Newsboys getting back to basics...
1. "Wherever We Go": Cynics *might* roll their eyes at this, but it's good, clean fun. Great for kids! :)
2. "Go": Great title track; one of my favorites. Like early Newsboys revisited- yet it rocks like Thrive!
3. "Something Beautiful": Lives up to its name! Very catchy, eighties-like, synth-pop/beat.
4. "The Mission": Bright, fast-paced, inspirational and filled with hope! It's *also* a favorite...
5. "Let It All Come Out": It's healing of the *best* kind- if you needed it. And I did!
6. "In Wonder": It's a very passionate, non-traditional, worship track. It works!
7. "Your Love Is Better Than Life": Unique & fast-paced. Peter raps better than K-Fed!? :) Really, it's "wordy" in a good way...
8. "I Am Free": Does *this* track need any intro? It's easily one of my Top 3! I can't wait to hear this in concert...
9. "Secret Kingdom": A very catchy-sounding, energetic track- with familiar whistling. One of my favorites.
10. "The Letter": Rich with meaning; very Biblical! Very soothing- It's *not* on Go:Remixed.
11. "Gonna Be Alright": Very soft & exactly as advertised. It really *is* alright.
...It seems like an excellent mix between Thrive & everything released since Not Ashamed. It'll be interesting to see which tracks really take off in popularity- there are many potential hits here. Congratulations Newsboys- on a job *extremely* well done!
P.S. The ENHANCED version should have extra tracks & special video added. I accidentally bought a non-enhanced version at a local retailer! Now I have to buy 2 CDs. See "comments"..."
Totally Impressed!

"Wow! I love this cd! 'Something Beautiful' is one of the best songs that I've ever heard and has had me dancing (seriously) in the streets. So the Newsboys were here in NYC recently, and I saw their concert and was totally impressed! These guys are the real deal. They're def. the best in their field."
Fun And Energetic

"'Go' is a collection of energetic and creative Christian pop/rock. The songs encompass a variety of styles. The overall CD is catchy, fun, and definitely a keeper.
A couple of the songs have gotten wide play on Christian radio. 'I Am Free' and 'Wherever We Go' are probably the most well known. In addition to these, there are several others that make this collection worthwhile. Other standout tracks include the following: 'Something Beautiful', 'The Mission' and 'The Letter'. Another interesting one is 'Your Love Is Better Than Life'. That one starts off with some very well done rapping by Phil Joel (I think).
The song that I think that is the best on the album is one that I've never heard on the radio - 'In Wonder'. It is a terrific song that deserves wide play. The album is worth buying for that song alone.
The version that I got also contains a DVD which gives brief bios of the band members shot on their home turf (except for Paul Colman whose segment was filmed in the Nashville area). The limited edition with the DVD is very interesting for hardcore Newsboys fans, but probably not a necessity for more casual listeners.
I recommend it."
Great eclectic Mix

"The newsboys know how to express the joy of being a Christian. One reviewer here complained about a section of what he felt were insipid lyrics in "Wherever We Go," but the point of the song (to me) is to show that incredible things can happen when you share the gospel-- and there are spiritual references in the second verse and bridge of the song.
The newsboys have performed before a plethora of audiences-- a few where the majority of the audience were not Christians-- and present the same message to one and all. Sometimes it's woven into a toe-tapping pop number. Not every song by every Christian group has to be a deep, healing song. Not every song has to present the gospel. (One of my favorite songs on the CD is a love song, Something Beautiful, written by Peter and Paul.) Sometimes you just need to be able to kick up your heels and revel in the joy that Christ gives.
I'm enjoying this CD so much, I'm taking it to the delivery room (which from the contractions I'm experiencing, may be tonight) to take my mind off the pain."
