"Donald Newkirk released his debut "Funk City" with lead singles "Sweat You" and "I desire". These are essential new jack releases. Newkirk showed alot of promise as a singer/songwriter/produder. He was considered the Prince of New Jack Swing. The public never caught on though. Although the two lead singles did moderately well. Newkirk produced some other groups and singers on the rush label. A must have for fans of the new jack genre."
