Synopsis

Product Description
Tromboneis NTC's 2nd cd.For this recording each member of the ensemble chose a composition. In this way all the nine individuals show their own strength and taste of music. A pleasant variety of styles and colours is parried with the always sweet and rich quality of trombone playing. The New Trombone Collective consists of nine trombonists from the same generation. They have all built up successful careers with renowned orchestras and ensembles, like the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra de Volharding and Het Nederlands Blazers Ensemble. The NTC is working closely together with composers to expand the repertoire for trombone. This way the collective is able to bring new ideas and new aspects of the trombone into the music practice in an innovative and expressive way.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Coming from a college trombonist: This is some of the finest trombone ensemble playing today. The gentleman below is sorely mistaken, and I would imagine all the people that were at ITF (international trombone festival) and saw them perform would agree...lets not forget also have their website linked on Joe Alessi's website.....rest assured, this group is top notch."
