"Fabulous CD. I'll let you read the reviews below. I just wonder about the CD title: "Brain Over Muscle"; a "mental" title, but, in reality, the album is highly danceable: it totally delivers the bodily instinctual drives for bouncing and trancing out! :-) Contra: some tracks have a bit too much lyrics (for a techno), and there is a same basic sample sound that runs almost all the tracks, but... who cares?... This CD is damned good! :-)"

"Neotek has put together some excellent electro on this disc! Unfortunately, many people seem to have missed it completely."
Will save your life

"Neotek's _Brain Over Muscle_ will save your life; it's that good. Imagine a cross between Kraftwerk, some white-label techno outfit, and Leather Strip and you may begin to get the picture. BTW, Good Courage, for some inexplicable reason, are nowhere near as good as Neotek. This is one of those rare occations where it's best to stick with the "side project"."
Beyond just being an imitator

"This side project of the members of Good Courage gives us a straight-forward electro-industrial dance album with a lot of techno rhythms included in most songs. There is good mixture of both dancey instrumentals and rhythmic songs that include vocals. The track Rhythm Machine gives a Kraftwerk impression with the inclusion of that unmistakable computerized voice, along with some keyboard notes with a Nitzer Ebb feel to them. The track Tear My Mind Apart moves away somewhat from the straight-ahead danceable style of the album to include some deep gothic vocals and deep mellow keyboards. The percussive programming on this track seems to combine both straight dance beats as well as some subtle tribal elements. Into Silence is also another track that moves away from pure dance material by presenting a slower, more emotional song and displays those same deep gothic vocals. The track Suicide is a very fast-paced song, with deep infecting rhythms and good use of horn synths, but the vocals seem to distract from the song. While the influences from such groups as Haujobb and Front Line Assembly are apparent, the combination of styles this band uses manages to create a sound that puts the band beyond just being an imitator."

"A side project of the band Good Courage, _Brain Over Muscle_ is Neotek's only release thusfar. A ball of electro/industrial fury that at times borders on hard techno, this album is simply a heavensent. The opening track, "Mind Travelling Part One," set the tone for the rest of the album. A hard, aggressive, dancy, song, it shows an effective use of drum loops, which is rare these days. The lyrics, while not spectacular, compliment the musical tone of the song almost perfectly. The song Neotek 52, tells a story of the future, where man has decimated the planet, and is experimenting with making machine-men. Though there are no lyrics in the song, the soundclips thrown in ("You're Not Really Human! " / "More Machine Than Human.") mix with the flow of the music and take you on a journey. A picture of the astonished characters in the song actually appears in your head just from the tone of the music. Another example of this storytelling, is the song Suicide, in which we watch a person go over the edge and eventually kill themselves (or so the music hints at when we reach the end). Unlike Neotek 52, the storyline of Suicide is assisted by harsh vocals that describe the situation at hand. This album is simply fabulous. The tracks flow into each other extremely well, and range in style from almost techno to harsh electro industrial. The only real lowpoint this album has is Mind Travelling Part Two, which is nowhere as the song it sequals. I give Neotek's _Brain Over Muscle_ 9 out of 10 ankhs. Go buy it NOW."
