"Nek's work has kept me enthralled ever since I first heard "Laura no esta." I must admit that it was a bit of a turnoff to see that many Italians seem to abhor his work because he is considered a pretty boy who has risen to fame because of teenage girls. I think that he has proven himself to be a very talented singer/writer/musician and deserves all the respect and admiration of millions of fans around the world. Nek did not disappoint me with his wonderful new CD La vida es. This work is full of new and experimental sounds which are a welcome novelty. Although the sounds are fresh and at times quite different from his usual style, there is still enough trademark Nek to keep veteran fans pleased. I was very happy to see how his music is evolving and that he is not afraid to experiement. His first single, "Llegas tu" is a catchy and wonderful choice to debut his album. "En el tren" and "Celos" are among my favorite tracks. Don't hesitate to get this new album...I have all of his cd's and believe me, they were a sound investment that I have never regretted."
MORE THAN LIFE

"I love Nek's music. But "La vida es" try to get the old same style and to be honest starts to sound kind of tired,He looks like don't care if his voice sounds good or not. The lirycs are nonsenses, and just "La vida es" "Llegas Tú" "Nuestro mejor Día" and " Celos" worth it. I'm a little dissapointed cause his cd "Entre Tú y yo" is almost perfect, and this time, Nek needs try harder to make a good come back in his career."
NEK easily "crosses over"

"Nek is sure to please his fans with this follow-up to Entre Tu y Yo. He proves that doing the"cross over" is not that difficult. La Vida Es features his familar pop and soft rock tunes like on Entre and Nek (version latina). His current single Llegas Tu is standard Nek. What is very likeable about Nek is his dimensions. One track, "Lleno de energia" is just that--full of energy backed by rich horns and a groovy guitar. It is a little reminescent of "Living la vida loca" but not too copcat and overdone. And then there is "Tu me das", a funky reggae-inspired tune. Perhaps what is most impressive is the mostly acoustic, folk-like "En El Tren"(my favorite so far). Imagine a faster, Spanish (Castellian)version of "Dust in the Wind"! He is maturing musicially with every release which is beautiful to hear. Overall, Nek is expanding musically, still edgy yet hitting a soft spot with romantic ballads. More and more so he's comparable with Sting en castellano/italiano in style but make no mistake Nek is refreshing in his own right."

"NEK did not disappoint me with his wonderful new CD, La Vida Es. I First became aware of Nek's music through the radio's incessant playing of "Laura no esta" and I must admit that I found the tune catchy. While traveling through Italy, I was able to purchase copies of the Italian versions of his CD's and I very much enjoyed them. Although he is mostly thought of as a "pretty boy" in Italy because of teenage girl's fascination with his good looks, Nek is a very talented singer/composer. The only thing that I can "complain" about in this new album, is that Nek did not write his own songs like in his previous works and that is clearly noticeable. But all in all, his voice does not disappoint. I especially recommend tracks #1 and #3. The accoustic version of "Llegas tu" is extraordinary. I thoroughly recommend this new album...buy it...you won't regret it."
