"I am a Latin Jazz fan (with no musical training). This CD is a terrific example of the genre. The group consists of father on piano, son on drums, a bass player and on a couple of tunes, saxophonist Ed Calle and percussionist Sammy Figueroa.



Over the last couple of years I have heard a cut or two on a local public radio station (WDNA) from these folk and had made a mental note to check out their work. I finally got around to buying this CD and it rocks (figuratively).



Mr. Negroni plays piano in the style of Michel Camilo, crisp and fast. I would pay to hear him do solo work. However, something special happens when he interacts with his son on drums. It's like jugglers tossing each other balls and clubs back and forth.



The only negative this record has is the song order, which I correct by playing them as I like them, roughly in order of ascending tempo. That way, the energy level goes steadily up instead of zigging and zagging.
