Synopsis

Album Description
Naturally 7 are a unique wonder. Seven young men from New York whose voices construct the most amazing harmonies and replicate the sounds of a variety of instruments so well that they decided that their album would be just that. Only voices. No instruments. Wall Of Sound is an astonishing body of work. It is an upbeat, positive, optimistic record that bucks the trend on every level. Heavily influenced by R&B, Gospel and Motown, this band arranges and produces their own tracks, adding a distinctive element to them. Chock full of classic tracks such as 'Bridge Over Troubled Water', 'More Than Words', and the self penned 'Wall Of Sound', the entire album is something completely different. 15 tracks. Universal. 2009.

CD Reviews

Interesting Mix

"I saw these guys on a late night TV show and had to get a disk!

I went through the Amazon selection and kind of randomly picked this one since there a few tunes on it that I recognized.

Their voices, and the mix and arrangements of them is just awesome. There were a few tunes that weren't in my taste range, but there were more that were.

The guys sing acapella, using their voices at times to sound like instruments. However, this disk does have a few tracks with electronic rhythm and such. Still really good though.

Astonishing

"These guys are not to be believed. Inventive, soulful and funky without a trace of formula in their work. You will need to pinch yourself throughout this CD to remind yourself that this is an a cappella group. Despite what one reviewer says here (and what your ears will insist you hear) there are no musical instruments anywhere on this album. There is but one exception to this: Track 7, "What I'm Lookin' 4" features a sample of the Supremes' classic "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" On this, the band builds an amazing homage to mothers. It is as seamless as it is inspired.

For the downside? Not every song is as brilliant as most of this album, so it suffers from 'the curse of the CD'. The album as a whole would probably be stronger had they left a couple songs off, But hey. That's why we have programmable players and playlists. If you're still not sold, search YouTube for them. You'll see."

"It is amazing to know that these guys are making all of their music with their voices! I have all of their CD's and I will purchase anything they put out. The music they make is very uplifting and can enhance your happy mood, I should know, I wrote the book on it:How To Choose Happiness...Most Of The Time: 30 Ways In 30 Days. Buy this CD!"
